"Hey there...
Just thought I'd let you know that I just came back from New York where I played a very rough mix of the album to my record company Columbia. They, like us, are really excited. They loved it and we're currently arguing about the first single choice!! I'm finally finished reocording and that's such a relief. Although the final mix doesn't take place until mid september, my main work is done and even though I may add a few final touches (it's hard for me to let go).. it really is done. Thought you might like to know. There's a lot of work to do before I release a single...including the video, the photo shoot
and press.... but the music side is just about signed sealed and delivered! For those who read credits you may be interested also to find out that we are ecstatic that Chris Lord Alge (the talent who mixed the first Savage Garden album) will once again me mixing the solo album. He is without a doubt my fave mix engineer in the world. I can't wait to hear how this record sounds with his slammin' talent all over the e.q.

On a personal note, I was so deeply saddened by the tragic death of Aaliyah. Obviously my heart goes out to her family, friends and fans. Such a waste of an incredible young talent. I'm sure God had other plans for her.
