Australia tour

I hope some of you managed to catch one of the shows on the Australian tour, if you were in Brisbane on the 20th and 21st May, you would have witnessed the gala finale that consisted of balloons and confetti.. it all became very festive. The reason for this was because we filmed the two Brisbane shows for the Savage Garden tv special / video / dvd.. that I know Ive already told you about (this will be incorporated into the documentary).. but I feel it is my duty to continue to mention it to you so that you dont forget that it is going to be shown / sold somewhere near you in the very near future! Ive seen the live vision that was shot and it really does look fabulous... I know you are going to love it.

Ive included a couple more live photos here for you... but make sure you look out in the next couple of weeks as we will be adding some further live photos.. hopefully to the Tour section of the site (although I need to check this one out with our webmaster first!).

Whilst we were in Australia, Darren and Daniel attended the APRA Awards. These awards are for music publishing and, specifically songwriting. The guys won three awards that night, including the prestigious SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR award (the second time they have won this in three years). These were THE most hilarious awards we have ever attended. We had Darren and Daniels manager, LT, with us, and he is from the United States where these things are put on using all the latest and greatest lightshows and staging and he was absolutely mortified when he saw how we like to do it in good old Oz. You might say we take a very low fi approach to awards ceremonies ... you know, no lightshow and absolutely no hydraulic system to get the stage parts moving. They instead relied on a few stage hands to move the stage in and out when necessary. In typical good humour though, the crowd loved it and it all lent itself to become a much more interesting event.

Ive also included a photo for you of the gang on John Woodruffs yacht.. they managed to have a day out on Sydney Harbour while they were there. I, on the other hand, did not get to go as God had decided that he would punish me the moment I set foot into my home town (Sydney), I became so sick and spent the whole time staring at the four walls of my hotel room. This also gave Darren a good excuse not to go as trying to get him onto a boat is like pulling teeth (and you KNOW how he feels about that).. but Dan and some of the crew and band went along and had a beautiful day.

The Australian tour, sadly, ended in Tasmania and we all headed home for a few days rest before going to New York for the Z100 show. It was such a great time and I know that you will all enjoy seeing the documentary that was made during the time we were there (thats just another little plug for the doco.. heh heh...)
